King County Off-Site Records Storage Contract Awarded to USArchive & Imaging Services
Kirkland, WA – January 15, 2003 - King County in Washington State has awarded USArchive & Imaging Services (USAIS) an agency wide contract for Off-Site Records Storage following the competitive bid process. This contract offers an Inter-local Cooperative Agreement (RCW 39.34) allowing other government agencies, including municipalities and political subdivisions, to purchase their storage services off of this agreement. The contract is for off-site records storage for boxes, file folders, media (which can include oversize boxes, maps, drawings, tapes and disks or other non-flammable materials), as well as, data document destruction. The contract award was announced this week by Procurement & Contract Services of the Finance and Business Operations Division within King County. “This Agreement allows King County the benefit of an enterprise wide solution for County departments and agencies,” says Michael Plath, USAIS President & CEO, “The expected reduction in operating costs for King County and other inter-local agencies are a direct result of USAIS’s bundled approach to pricing, which is a unique feature in the industry. This award will provide significant cost savings to those agencies and organizations who take advantage of the contract pricing. In today’s environment of reduced resources and operating expenses every qualified entity should seriously review their costs for records storage and data destruction.”
